Distrelec always offers you the latest diagnostic equipment for preventative maintenance, as well as a broad portfolio of standard and specialised components for electronics, control technology, automation etc.

Tech tip:

Suspicious structure-borne sound

When inspecting motors, ball bearings etc. a lot of time can be saved by using a vibration measuring device. It records the structure-borne sound on the outside of the enclosure and analyses the mechanical oscillations. Abnormalities in the spectrum are reliably detected by the vibration measuring device. Due to its ease of use and high validity, a vibration tester is very useful for the preventative maintenance of drives and units.

Tech tip:

Energy loss in 3-phase network

Energy losses caused by harmonics or asymmetry can be considerable. It is not sufficient to monitor only apparent power/active power. This is because the waste of energy caused by asymmetric loading of the phases can be more expensive than an unfavourable cos phi.

Tech tip:

Gold or silver?

Although gold is the more precious metal it is of lower conductivity than silver. So silver-plating is the first-choice surface finish. Gold-plated contacts are more resistant to mechanical loads provided the coating is sufficiently thick. On top of that, a contact surface that is as smooth as possible is important for conductivity and the accuracy of fit of the contacts.
